Richard J. Gardner (born February 1, 1982 in Santa Rosa, California) is a minor league baseball pitcher for the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
[edit] Minor league career
Gardner was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th round of the 2003 amateur draft. He began his career in the 2004 season with their Class A-Advanced Potomac Cannons and finished up with their Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. In 2005, he ramained with Chattanooga. He was sent down to the Reds' Rookie League GCL Reds in 2006, but was promoted to the Class A-Advanced Sarasota Reds later in the season. He started the 2007 season in Sarasota, before being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga and then the Triple-A Louisville Bats.
Prior to the start of the 2008 season, Gardner was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers organization and was assigned to their Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
