Richard Brodie (born 8 July 1987 in England) is an English footballer, currently playing for York City.

[edit] Newcastle Benfield

Brodie started his career with Whickham before moving to Northern League side Newcastle Benfield in summer 2006. Brodie was Whickham's top scorer in the 2005–06 season.[1] During his time as a semi-professional, Brodie was serving an apprenticeship as a joiner.[2]

After impressing against York City in a FA Cup tie, Brodie was offered the chance to join the North Yorkshire club. He signed on transfer deadline day, 31 January 2007, for an undisclosed sum.[1] He scored on his York debut against Altrincham.[3]
