Reza Shah's Mausoleum was Reza Shah burial ground, monument, located in Tehran, Ray, Iran.
In early days of the Iranian Revolution in 1979, Reza Shah's mausoleum was destroyed by bulldozers and dynamite under the direction of Ayatollah Sadeq Khalkhali, which was sanctioned by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. In Ayatollah Sadeq Khalkhali's memoirs Book is described, how difficult was to destroy the building. (The book is in farsi). Sadegh Khalkhali tried also to bulldoze both Ferdowsi's tomb and Persepolis, before the provisional government stopped him.
The ground is used as a Islamic religious school now.Satellite map
