[edit] Ron liebman

This is a single purpose account with edits picking up where User:KrazyChicken left off. This is indicative of behavior.

Clerk note:: This was added to an already completed case that had not been moved yet. In order to make the second request look not already completed, I had to archive the old case. Also did some formatting. MSJapan 15:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Declined ... not because they are not related, but because it is obvious that they are related!!! Just look at the contribs.
  • Soon after KrazyChicken is blocked, up turns Maf udding... what are the edits? setting Phil Rizutto's birth year to 1917. Even mentions Rob liebman in summaries
  • Soon as Maf udding gets blocked, up turns Robustelli ... what are the edits? Setting Phil Rizutto's birth year to 1917. Even mentions Rob liebman in summaries

No checkuser is required here. CU is only for the most difficult cases, this is a very obvious case. (I blocked Robustelli too) Remember WP:DUCK, and remember that probable socks, based on the preponderance of evidence, are blockable and no CU is required. ++Lar: t/c 01:11, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Identical style: birth year dispute[1], no source citations to support assertions.[2]. Frequent reversions (but no technical violations) [3][4][5][6] Rklawton 15:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: formatted entry -- lucasbfr talk 20:35, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed. Also the following users are very likely socks.

Still using NY public library terminals, as before, so other users on the IP with clean contrib records would suffer collateral damage if we blocked the underlying IPs...Hope that helps. ++Lar: t/c 22:30, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Ron has recently popped up on his talk page ( User talk:Ron liebman#Unblock request ) asking to be unblocked and apologizing and claiming that the flood of lookalikes really were not him. See also AN discussion: WP:AN#Block review for Ron liebman

While discussions were underway there, two more apparent socks have popped up today ( Ken raffensberger (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) and Steve grinberg (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) ).

For the record, and to try and disambiguate the unblock request claims of Ron not being associated with the others, I would like to request a Checkuser check on the accounts used between the previous CU and today, including the two recent socks which appeared since Ron started asking for an unblock.

Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 20:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed. All straightforward socks. Some proxy server use in there, so stay on the look out.Voice-of-All 12:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Note: Main IP blocked. Voice-of-All 12:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Pretty much all of the contributions seem to match the style of the blocked user. Unsourced edits to baseball-related articles, usually involving statistics or "recent research". Wafulz 15:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed. New York Public Library public terminal user. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 15:53, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

"Ron" (and accomplices?) have been widely vandalizing mostly baseball articles (Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Ron liebman) for roughly 2 weeks. Many of the edits have come from IP addresses known to be at New York City public libraries. I would like to run a confirmatory check on the named accounts to verify that this is all one incident. This may be unnecessary; most of the accounts above are indef'ed already by me; but given that the incident is still active as of yesterday and today (new account yesterday, IP vandal today) I think it's worth confirming with CU. Georgewilliamherbert 20:42, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: This doesn't meet C, E, or F. No diffs for vandalism or 3rr. Ron liebman isn't banned either. Request is not compliant. Funpika 23:24, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
CheckUser note: No wonking please. This guy is banned enough for me; what are you looking for, the police report? I'm looking at this. :-) Dmcdevit·t 07:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: I misread codeletter F. Sorry! Funpika 10:20, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed, and Ross adell (talk · contribs) and Rick_dempsey (talk · contribs) as well. Dmcdevit·t 08:05, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
