Reno, Nevada will be getting a team in the NBA Development League to begin play for the 2008-09 season. The team is owned by David Kahn, operator of Southwest Basketball, LLC (the group that also owns the Albuquerque Thunderbirds and Tulsa 66ers, and formerly the Austin Toros and Fort Worth Flyers), and will play their home games at the Reno Events Center.
The team is currently having a "Name the Team" Contest. The finalist names are Bighorns, Enforcers, Rangers, and Riders
