The first newspaper ever published in Croatia in Croatian language, during the Napoleon's rule in Croatia. It was printed in Italian with texts translated in Croatian, with few solely Croatian texts. Its first editor (1806-1809) was Italian publicist Bartolomeo Benincasa. After him, in 1809 the editor became Croatian Dominican Nikola Dominik Budrović.
