realestate.com.au Ltd and its subsidiary companies, known as the REA Group, make up a global online real estate advertising company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. The REA Group is public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: REA), and had AU$108 million in FY07 revenue [1]. REA Group is majority owned by News Limited, a subsidiary of News Corporation.

The Group grew from realestate.com.au, Australia's largest property website with 4.4 million unique browsers each month [2]. However, the strategy has been to aggressively expand the group internationally through acquisition[3]. The Company now operates property websites in 10 countries that are used by more than 19,000 agents and have approximately 8.8m unique visitors per month [4].

In addition to realestate.com.au, the REA Group also operates property.com.au, realcommercial.com.au, realholidays.com.au and homeguru.com.auin Australia; propertyfinder.com and hotproperty.co.ukin the UK; allrealestate.co.nz, realcommercial.co.nz in New Zealand; casa.it, atHome.lu, atOffice.lu, atHome.be, atHomeLorraine.fr, athomealsace.fr and atHome54.de in continental Europe; squarefoot.com.hk in Hong Kong; propertyfinder.ae in Dubai; and allglobalproperties.com in the rest of the world. The REA Group's businesses also include estate agent office management tools and web design services called hubonline, as well as a UK real estate print publishing business called PropertyFinder Publishing. The Company announced on 11 Sept 2007 that it had made its first acquisition in Asia, with the purchase of Hong Kong's largest English language property magazine, SquareFoot [5]
