I have compiled a brief summary or Raymond Jackson based on his church's website, www.fachurch.org and his extensive documentation on the website www.thecontender.org. Both of which are maintained by his immediate family. I also personally know many people who knew him during his life and have peiced some of this from what I know from them. Please update or correct anything I have left out or placed incorrectly. He led a very full life and I am sure there is much more that could be said.

[edit] Updates

I have made some major updates to this page after reviewing some of the source information on raymond jackson and some of my own knowledge of the branham movement. I would say as an opnion that jackson was the third or fourth most influential person in the entire movement up until his death. At times he may have been the most influential after the death of branham. I think it can be fairly said that the branham movement went into virtual doctrinal chaos for first few years after branham's death and jackson and a very few other number of ministers held it together until things stabilized. i think during that time it is also a fair estimate that as many as half to three quarters of Branhams followers returned to denominations, basicly giving up on his teachings.

I have added mainly section on jackson's doctrines highlighting the the main differences between himself the rest of the branham movement. the most important thing to remeber about the movement is that jackson's followers are really the only part of the movement that is monolithic. Of his 75 or so associated churches they all believe identically the same doctrines on every topic. Whereas with the other major sects you are hard pressed to find two or three churches that believe the exact same thing. there is always at least some minor doctrinal difference. So in that context you could say that jackson's group is by far the largest group believing in a set doctrine within the movement even though as a whole they constitute a small precentage of the total movement. There are very few constants among the entire movement other than the fact that they all claim branham as their starting point. It is fair to say a broad section of the movement is about 75% identical in doctrine, but from one fringe to the other there is very little that remains same.

i am hesitant to add some of that to the main page because that information is really from observation. I am unaware of detailed study of the branham movement to reference for things like that , only websites and publications of the movement themselves —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.38.8.229 (talk) 19:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

I would be very interested to see some posts and additions from jackson's own followers. It does appear that the one who uploaded the photo is at least in contact with their members. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.38.8.229 (talk) 19:35, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

OK. I have been doing some housekeeping! I've added quite a few references and would like to add alot more. There are alot of publications and info to read over to get references for all this stuff if anyone would like to help. I am getting the majority of my sources from www.thecontender.org www.fachurch.org www.biblebelievers.org.Cool10191 (talk) 23:43, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
