Randall "Randy" Pitchford II (also known as DuvalMagic) is one of five founders of Gearbox Software and currently the CEO and president of the company.

Randy accepted the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences award for best PC Action Game in 2000 for his production and direction of Gearbox’s debut title, Half-Life: Opposing Force. Since then, Randy directed or produced the development of Half-Life for Sega Dreamcast (cancelled), Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life for PlayStation 2, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, James Bond 007: Nightfire, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, Halo: Combat Evolved for PC and the Brothers In Arms series.
In 2005, Randy served as Co-Director and Executive Producer of Gearbox’s original franchise “Brothers in Arms. In March of 2005, Gearbox launched the franchise with publisher Ubisoft on three platforms to achieve record sales and tremendous critical acclaim making it the best selling and highest rated World War II action game ever released on the Xbox video game system.
Randy is also is a fierce on-line competitive gamer who has earned a reputation since the days of Doom with the handle "DuvalMagic".
Before becoming a full-time game developer, Randy was a professional magician in Hollywood occasionally performing at the famous Magic Castle between classes at University Of California. He was working at Wizardz Night club.
Randy's had a long professional background in the production and design of 3D games including work on Apogee Software / 3D Realms Entertainment' Duke Nukem 3D, Atomic, Duke Nukem 64 and Shadow Warrior. He left the company in May 1997 to work on Prax War at Rebel Boat Rocker. The game was never released and he helped found Gearbox Software LLC at Texas in January 1999.
He wrote his first game (a 16 room text adventure) when he was about 11 or 12 on a CPM machine which his dad built.

He is married and has a son named Randall Steward Pitchford III (born in January 8, 2000).
