[edit] George Felix Allen
Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. --Db099221 19:06, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello. You deleted information about Allen's French fluency and added information about African-Americans being in the crowd. You did not give an explanation for the former or a citation for the latter. I reverted your changes for these reasons. In the future, please discuss controversial changes on the talk page, as is Wikipedia's policy. Thank you. --Db099221 00:51, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Dutchpoetryman.jpg listed for deletion
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. // Pilotguy radar contact 20:44, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[edit] License tagging for Image:Michaelmcglothlin.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Michaelmcglothlin.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:08, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Michael McGlothlin
I saw your note on the Michaelmcglothlin.jpg image page. You can make a self-taken picture usable on Wikipedia by giving it an appropriate free license - for example the GFDL. If you want to give your picture a GFDL license, you can add the following to the image page:
== Licensing ==
{{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}}
If Mr. McGlothlin is your father, you should also take a look at the Wikipedia guideline on conflict of interest. If you have questions about this or anything else, feel free to ask on my talk page or you can put {{helpme}} on your page and someone will respond to your question.--Kubigula (talk) 03:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: All Due Respect
I have to say I find your comment on my talk page very puzzling. I am completely unaware of deleting or significantly editing anything you are working on. As far as I can see, the only article we have crossed paths on is Michael McGlothlin, and all that I did there was to fix a disambiguation link (a minor technical fix) and add the article to the Virginia Wikiproject. You may be confusing me with User:Angr, who did remove a dead link to a deleted picture from that article. Actually, I don't have the ability to delete pictures; only administrators can do that, and I am not an administrator. In fact, I tried to help you save the Michaelmcglothlin.jpg picture from being deleted by suggesting how you can properly license it for Wikipedia.--Kubigula (talk) 19:11, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Michaelmcglothlin.jpg
While processing images tagged for deletion, I saw your note on Image:Michaelmcglothlin.jpg. If you are the copyright holder for this image and would like for Wikipedia to be able to use it, please tag it with {{GFDL-self}} and say something to the effect of "I, the copyright holder, release this image under the GFDL". If you do not specify an acceptable license for free use of this image, it will be deleted in one week. Thank you. --BigDT 08:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
