For the Lough Neagh island, see Ram's Island, Northern Ireland.
Ram's Island is a small 20 acre island off the coast of Mystic, Connecticut. It is located approximately 1 miles offshore, between Mystic, CT and Fisher's Island, a much larger island that is part of New York state. Once called Mystic Island, it was formerly the site of an exclusive Victorian era hotel resort at which steamships from Boston and New York City stopped twice a day. At its heyday the hotel played host to a world lightweight bareknuckle boxing championship. By the 1920s, the hotel had fallen into disrepair. Currently it is a private residence owned and maintained by the Ragsdale family, who have lived on the island since the 1970s, when they bought it from its former owner and performed extensive renovations.
