Railroad District (Atlanta)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Railroad District of Atlanta is the historic south central business district of the city during its 19th century prominence as a major railroad junction. The name is applied to 20 blocks of the downtown area south of Five Points between the Castleberry Hill neighborhood to its west and Peachtree Street to the east. The name came into common use around May 2007 by property owners and developers seeking to revitalize the area as a new corridor for expanding Downtown.
