[edit] Rage is anything but Power Metal

Rage is anything but Power Metal. Power metal is bands like Rhapsody of Fire, Stratovarius, Nightwish: fast, melodical, with high-pitched clean vocals, often symphonic and fantasy-themed. Music of Rage is kind of classical Heavy metal subgenre with some Speed metal influences, and sounds similar to bands like Judas Priest. Beaumain 06:03, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Actually, power metal is cited as the genre of the band in many websites. See BNR metal pages, metal archives, Allmusic, [1], [2], [3], etc. Besides, a google search for "Rage band "power metal" -"against the machine"" gives 124,000 results[4], which is clearly significant.
If you want to add classic metal as a genre, I won't oppose it, but you can't remove power metal, there are too many valid sources for that. The band even figures in the list of power metal bands. IronChris | (talk) 17:29, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
we can put classic/speed/power metal --Neo139 23:21, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, there are many sources claiming them to be Power, but, really, have you carefully listened their music? THere is just INFLUENCE of Power, and actually it's dim. 189.136.251.39 (talk) 16:27, 18 May 2008 (UTC)BuggShash

It's more a crossover between power & trash, but mainly it's good ol' heavy metal —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.174.56.249 (talk) 20:16, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rage is not Thrash Metal

Rage is not Thrash Metal! It's the biggest stupidity I've ever seen! So I've deleted it.

No they're clearly not a Thrash band but they have some significant Thrash influences in their music
They ARE Thrash, listen to the Ten Years in Rage album, to the old albums and the newer songs mainly composed by Peavy, there is a Thrash sound in LOTS of them 189.136.251.39 (talk) 16:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC) BuggShash

They used to be thrash, but they evolved to something more. Blind Guardian was thrash too, but now they clearly aren't anymore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.174.56.249 (talk) 20:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
