Ex-RAF Transport Command Bristol Britannia ‘’Regulus‘’ (RAF serial XM496) is being restored by the Bristol Britannia Preservation Society at Kemble Airport, Wiltshire, England. Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland, first flight 24th August 1960, delivered to the RAF 17th September 1960, withdrawn from RAF service 27th October 1975. The aircraft was then used by several airlines until being brought to Kemble and painted in RAF colours. The aircraft will be preserved as a ground exhibit, there are no plans to ever fly it.
