Race the Fray

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Race The Fray are an Australian independent four-piece rock band that have a pro-creative style that is all their own.

Known locally as The Fray, word of mouth was a great ally for this independent band during their early days. Now, the band has toured Australia[citation needed] and has quickly built a loyal following. The popular single "Always Away" from their self-titled debut EP was released in late 2005 and received rotation on commercial, regional and national radio stations,[citation needed] with the band featuring as Melbourne Radio station Nova 100's "Made In Melbourne" band and FReeZA's band of the month.[citation needed] Following their sell-out EP launch at St. Jerome's in Melbourne their second independently released EP "This Art Will Play" featured in the top 10 of the Association of Independent Record Labels charts for several weeks before peaking at #3.[citation needed] Their new double a-side single "Our Future's On The Weekend" | "Fumbling Mess" was released in November 2006 following the bands successful national tour[citation needed] playing to thousands of fans at over 20 shows in 5 states.

The band is made up of:

Nick Astro - Vocals/Guitar
Karl - Guitar
Cal Reeves - Bass
Al Mac - Drums

Karl replaced Swifty on guitar in early 2007 so that he could go out and take on this wide brown land as a solo artist.
