Nova 100 (call sign: 3MEL) is a commercial radio station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, broadcasting on 100.3 MHz. It has a policy of "never more than two ads in a row" and quickly established itself as a major player in the Melbourne radio market, challenging the Austereo station Fox FM for the number one market position playing mainstream pop, RnB and dance music.

Nova 100 is owned by DMG Radio Australia, a subsidiary of the UK's Daily Mail Group, with a sister station Vega 91.5fm, which share the same studio location in Richmond.

Nova 100 commenced on the Melbourne airwaves on Monday 3 December 2001. It was the first new commercial radio station in Melbourne for 21 years.

[edit] Breakfast - Hughesy & Kate

The breakfast show of Nova 100, is the flagship program of the station aimed at capturing an audience for the rest of the day. The show runs from 6:00am to 9:00am weekday mornings and is hosted by comedians Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek. Tim Blackwell, Carrie Bickmore and Jeff Tyler assist on the show also.

A podcast of the breakfast show is uploaded daily onto the Nova website and onto iTunes around 12:00pm weekdays. The podcast lasts for about 15 minutes, showcasing the best bits of interviews and segments of the day.

[edit] Mornings – Dylan Lewis

Weekdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Dylan Lewis – has had roles hosting and presenting on numerous Australian music programs, including Recovery (TV series), The 10:30 Slot and Pepsi Live, a music chart television program. He won Celebrity Big Brother Australia in 2002 and was a contestant on Celebrity Circus in 2005. Lewis was also the vocalist for an eclectic funk/alternative rock band called The Brown Hornet (band) and later had a hip-hop project under the name Megabias. Joined Nova 100 in 2006.

Weekdays from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Hayley Pearson has come from Hot 91 on the Sunshine Coast in Queesland. Joining Nova 100 in 2008, replacing Harlee McLeod who moved to sister station Nova 969 in Sydney.

[edit] Drive – Akmal, Cal & Ed - The Wrong Way Home

Weekdays from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Akmal Saleh, Cal Wilson and Ed Kavalee, assisted by Jarrod Walsh – The drive shift is hosted by comedians Akmal Saleh, Cal Wilson and Ed Kavalee. Both Akmal and Cal have had numerous appearances on the improvisation television program Thank God You're Here along with Ed being part of the main ensemble cast for all three seasons.

Weekdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Comedians Merrick Watts and Tim Ross along with Kate Ritchie host an hour full of laughs - covering the latest hot topics of the day.

Weekdays from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Johnny Kats and Jody McLeod – This show counts down the Top 10 songs in Melbourne twice per weeknight. Listeners vote for songs on the countdown through the stations website or studio telephone line.

Weekdays from 10:00pm - 12:00pm. Sunday Nights The Stick Shift with Dan Watson and many other guests who feature every week.

Nova 100 operates on the 100.3 MHz FM frequency at the ATV10 tower on Mount Dandenong. Its strength is 56 kw and is transmitted to areas including the Greater Melbourne metropolitan area, Geelong and the Surf Coast, south to Phillip Island, north west to the Macedon Ranges and east to the Yarra Valley.
