[edit] Farscape
Hey, thanks for pitching in with the Farscape synopsis! Was wondering when we would get some folks to help out with those so it's much appreciated. Considering the sheer volumn of work needed, don't worry about the lack of wiki links - I'm sure some busy body will eventually put them in. Heck, none of the episode articles existed a month ago until I created them LOL Welcome aboard. RoyBatty42 02:17, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inle lake leg rowing
Do you have a ref on the weeds being origin of leg rowing? Women navigate sitting down in hyacinth choked channels without much problem. I have heard other reasons for stand up rowing, the reason not being weeds, but about fishing, which is practiced mostly by men, and the two types of nets that they use have to be manipulated standing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kanbawsa (talk • contribs) 03:12, 25 February 2007 (UTC).
[edit] I'm confused
Is there any reason you removed my apology regarding the edits I made to The Langoliers? Typically, removing content from other users on your talk page is frowned upon by the Wikipedia community. Sarc37 16:50, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Re:your message. Oh, sorry about that. Like I said, I was confused. I apologize again. :) Sarc37 17:20, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category change on COCP article
I'm not sure why you recently added combined oral contraceptive pill to Category:Human reproduction. I've proposed removing it (along with a number of other articles) at Category talk:Human reproduction. I would appreciate any comments you may have. Lyrl Talk C 15:14, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Farscape
Saw that you were doing to some work on the synopsis of first season Farscape episodes. Always welcome, but the area that really needs attention are the later seasons, many don't have any last time I looked after creating them. Not sure how you came to the episodes, but there is a page for List of Farscape episodes if you wanted a jumping off point. RoyBatty42 10:55, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I've been doing the later seasons, but couldn't remember where I stopped, so I started at the beginning with the thought of editing what I've already done, but then got sidetracked by editing some of the earlier ones that I didn't do. I'll make my way to the later ones, shortly. The real question is, how long is too long for each synopsis? :-) QuizzicalBee 14:32, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- Personally, I feel that each synopsis should only run about 4 or 5 SHORT paragraphs, each covering the "acts" of the episode. The links at the bottom, especially for Farscapeworld.com, can usually give someone more in depth episode information. RoyBatty42 23:48, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Another thing to keep an eye out for if you can: David Kemper's wikilinks. Seems there is a drummer named David Kemper. Hence, all the old entries on Farscape related pages that are presently [[David Kemper]] need to be replaced with [[David Kemper (writer)|David Kemper]] so it is article, which I had to create. RoyBatty42 22:00, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
I wish I had seen the unanswered questions sections earlier and could have warned you off. Something like that falls under heading Wikipedia:No original research and it seems that someone has already noticed it and has been blanking it out. Sorry, I know how frustrating it is to watch material get dumped (I'm currently in a debate about something I put up for an article that a admin is calling copyright violation). The only way you could get something like that up, of course, is to find a site that also lists them. You can check at farscapeworld.com (which is actually run by a friend of mine), snurcher's guide or the like. But on the other hand, it's still debatable whether something like that is encyclopedic. PS - Going to the Scaper Con next November? RoyBatty42 17:30, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
FYI - it is supposed to be the last one they will put on and certainly the last they will get so many of the stars for, it you are into that sort of thing. A friend who I turned on to Farscape last year lives only a mile from the convention center. RoyBatty42 18:50, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unending
Hello... thanks for adding the notes re: actor/character motivation to "Unending". You may have noticed that I've added citation requests. Please don't interpret it as a challenge of the material's accuracy; instead, I think that your edit adds useful out-of-universe information to the article. I'd like to see citations so that the text doesn't get deleted by someone in the future. Thanks again. --Ckatzchatspy 03:00, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vincent Chin
Dude, do you have a REAL source for what you're saying when you get that far off NPOV? Cite your source or remove your comments. I'm putting too much serious work on the page to have it vandalized by some ranter. There are severe contradictions between the court record and the Asian American articles (none has ever mentioned the 1989 hearing) and you're not helping! MMetro 21:29, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for showing me my way around these talk pages. Not sure how to keep a thread coherent, but a little bit of trivia for the next time you do see the film. Comparing my notes of the shot travelling down Woodward with old city directories, I found that Vincent grew up next to the KFC that seen in the movie. That's all gone, now, but the McDonald's became a Coney Island-- the planters and phone booth are still there. I'll try to get pictures put up, sometime. MMetro 11:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wiley Protocol
I noticed that you made some edits to this article a while back. Because I'm COI with Wiley, I've agreed not to edit, only discuss, but our only editor, WLU, seems to be COI too and I'm not getting anywhere with him. Would you consider lending a hand to this article? It needs it. By the way, I grew up in Pennsylvania. Neil Raden 04:33, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Neil. I don't know where your talk page is, so I am replying on my own talk page. I don't know enough about the Wiley Protocol to edit it. My edits were mainly pretty minor.QuizzicalBee 02:22, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sebacean
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Sebacean, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Gavin Collins 20:50, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Farscape episodes
Please do not bring those back until it is shown that they can reach even as far as the first episode's condition. The first episode barely establishes notability as it is, so you're going to have to put in some work for the non-special episodes to become decent. As for consensus, only WP:ILIKEIT comments have been given for reasons to keep, so consensus is found in policies and guidelines. TTN 18:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Your comment here is erroneous and wrong-headed. Are you suggesting that Wikipedia policies be ignored simply because, as a fan of the series, you like the episode articles? We have a clear policy of redirection in these instances, a policy that has been amply confirmed. These will be redirected; I suggest you open up an RfA if you are unhappy that policies and guidelines are being applied and followed. Eusebeus 19:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Everything eventually leads back to our policies and guidelines, and none of the complaints even come close to being based from their standpoints. Do not even pretend that you cannot improve the articles because of me. You could easily work in a sandbox, or just apply the sources and go from there. As I said, you only need the level of the first episode, which would take ten minutes if it is easy as you claim. I suggest that you head over to TV.com and Wikia if you would like to continue to write about the episodes. TTN 19:30, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- You have had well over a month to get started (and probably six months to a few years counting from their creation), and there has been nothing to show that anything besides the first episode can be improved. You need to show something, not repeatedly claim and hypothesize that something will come about. Again, I am just asking for a few references, which would not take that long to do. TTN 20:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Crackers Don't Matter"
Hi,
Thanks for your compliment and your edits and additions to the page. I have two questions. First, could we include a source for the new information you added? Second, about the Scorpy clone subplot: I'm not sure how we should deal with it in the article. On the one hand, it's definately something that needs to be mentioned. On the other, we're revealing spoilers for the whole season (and beyond) by explaining the whole situation. That's why my original text was deliberately vague. If we want to spell it out in full in the article, I think maybe we should inculde a spoiler warning or something. What do you think?
Acegikmo1 (talk) 11:45, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dispute on FGC
Hi. I am having a dispute with a user on Female genital cutting. I noticed your previous contribution and hoped you might provide some third-party commentary on a dispute at Talk:Female genital cutting#Blackworm’s objections. - Sorry for the bad link. I fixed it. Phyesalis
[edit] Female genital cutting
You edited the article to read (all emphasis mine):
Female genital cutting (FGC), female genital mutilation (FGM), female circumcision (FC), clitoridectomy, or clitorectomy[1], is the excision or tissue removal of any part of the female genitalia for religious, cultural or other non-medical reasons.
Your cited source says:
Clitorectomy: A surgical procedure in which all or part of the clitoris and sometimes also the labia are removed. Clitorectomy is a form of female circumcision (female genital mutilation).
Since FGC refers to removal of "any part," not the clitoris and maybe more, your edit introduces factual inaccuracy into the article. The terms you added are forms of FGC, they do not refer to all forms of FGC. Blackworm (talk) 17:40, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Centralized TV Episode Discussion
Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. [edit] Speedy deletion of Peter Jackson (academic)
A tag has been placed on Peter Jackson (academic) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. As you are a recent editor of the articles in question, please see my merge proposal of Hugh Nibley and Egyptian names in the Book of Mormon - thanks. --Descartes1979 (talk) 04:56, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- After discussion and a second look, I am changing my proposal to merge with Linguistics and the Book of Mormon#Egyptian names. That is a much more natural fit for the content of Egyptian Names in the Book of Mormon. See the new discussion here. --Descartes1979 (talk) 21:16, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Ann Dunham
An editor has nominated Ann Dunham, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ann Dunham and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Jewish Christians
Dear QB - please read the Wikipedia article Jewish Christians. You will see that this term has very specific meanings which do not apply to the Mendelssohn family.
