Qardho (Gardo) is a small, historic city in the central Puntland area of Somalia. It is the capital of Qardho District in the Karkaar Region. It is largely inhabited by the Cisman Mahmoud and Abdi Rahiim Ibrahiim sub-clan of Majeerteen, as well as the Arap sub clan of Mohamud Salah, and Midgan. It consists of the following districts: Hargoble, Kambo, Kuleejo, Qorya'ad, Hingood, Ga an libaax and wada jir
The current Mayor of Qardho is Osman buuh ali
It is the home of the current President of Puntland, Mohamud Muse Hersi, though he was not born here.
