The article says:

Purley's saxon church was demolished in the time of Stephen and Matilda, to be replaced by the current Norman church, St Mary the Virgin. It was once home to Nell Gwynne.

Seems a bit unlikely. I will request a source. -- Chris j wood (talk) 15:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
