Pterandra is a genus in the Malpighiaceae, a family of about 75 genera of flowering plants in the order Malpighiales. Pterandra comprises 15 species of trees, shrubs, and subshrubs, all but one native to South America, principally Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil; the exception is from Panama.
