Promise Me This is a film written and directed by the award-winning Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica. The film screened on May 26, 2007 at the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival.^[1] The international title of the film is Promise Me This, but the film is known as "Завет" (Zavet, or "Vow") in Serbian.

Set in Zlatibor District, an old man named Živojin Marković, living in a remote village prays for his grandson Cane to go to the city (Užice), sell his cow and bring back a wife.
