PrimaLoft
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PrimaLoft is a patented synthetic microfiber thermal insulation material that was developed by the Albany International Corporation for the United States Army in the 1980s. The Army requested an alternative to goose down insulation, which is not effective when wet.[1] PrimaLoft is not as lightweight as goose down, however it is soft, warm, breathable and water resistant. Most importantly, it can maintain warmth even when wet and is used in cold weather clothing, gloves, sleeping bags and footwear as well as pillows and comforters.[2]
