Port Stanley Ontario is a quiet commercial fishing village in southwestern Ontario Canada that is quickly becoming a "destination" for the weary traveller. The meandering [Kettle Creek] which divides the town has a large harbour mouth that supports five marinas for pleasure boats and government docks for the commercial fishing fleet of Lake Erie yellow perch and Walleye. It is a very self sufficient harbour with a grocery store, LCBO, drug store, hardware store and restaurants and accommodations with small inns and B&B's all within walking distance of our two public beaches. The King George Lift Bridge is one of only two (Wallaceburg) in Ontario, that links both sides of the harbour. The Largest Perch in Canada is located in Glover Park beside the King George Lift Bridge. Summer theatre, ice cream shops and French fries on the beach are only a few of the attractions which fill the village with tourists during July and August.Local painters and artisans create a fall tour the third weekend in September anually. Port Stanley is located within the [Municipality of Central Elgin] and belongs to [Communittees in Bloom].
