[edit] Spelling of "Policarp"
I'm unsure this is how the name of "Policarp" was spelled -- it may have been "Polycarp," but I'm unsure.

- According to a TV Guide of 1969, his name was spelled "Polycarp," not "Policarp"; I will fix this misspelling, when I expand the article.

- Thanks for the reminder. The original stub mentioned that store, but I neglected to include it in the revision. I was discussing the show with others who remembered it from childhood, and they, too, remembered the store more than the earlier houseboat.
[edit] Polycarp probably didn't play on Saturday
Polycarp wasn't shown on Saturday mornings, at least after 1968 or so, if he ever was. Saturday mornings belonged to the networks. ABC wasn't running weekday network programming until the advent of "Good Morning America." If I remember correctly, the KATC version, "Good Morning Acadiana", was the program that bumped Polycarp off the air and turned John Plauché into a restaurant manager.

- Hi. I only have one issue of TV Guide, from 26 April-2 May 1969, but it says that "Polycarp and Pals" did air on Saturday mornings (or at least on the morning of Saturday, April 26, of that year) at 7 am, right after "Leave It to Beaver" at 6:30 and right before a cartoon called "Casper" (the Ghost, I assume) at 8 am. Otherwise, it aired weekdays mornings at 7 am, right after 15 minutes of "Weather, News" at 6:45 and right before a 2-hour movie at 8 am -- or 8:30 am on some days, I now see, meaning sometimes "Polycarp and Friends" ran 1.5 hours. I'll note that in the entry.
Nice TV Guide image. The entry says, "Color". Ha! I remember the boat show being in black and white, it probably had color cartoons. The general store show was in color. RPellessier | Talk 04:11, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
