As seen on the map, Chicago and other cities voted mainly for John Kerry, and rural Illinois voted overwhelmingly for President Bush.

Illinois voted for John Kerry in 2004. More counties in Illinois voted for Bush, but the more heavily populated counties voted for Kerry.
