Please Don't Touch Me is the third song performed in the musical Young Frankenstein. It is sung by the character, "Elizabeth" and the Voyagers. Megan Mullally was the original "Elizabeth" and sings the song on the cast album. The lyrics were written and the music was composed by Mel Brooks. It is considered a favorite of the musical and is used in much of the promotion of the show.
The plot centers around Elizabeth telling her fiance, Dr. Frankenstein, not to lay a finger on her as he is departing for business, but that he is welcome to indulge in an increasingly bizzarre and outre series of fantasies about her, as long a they remain purely fantasies. She is joined in these remonstrations by the female chorus and an elaborate dance routine ensues, with the male and female chorus dancing and singing without ever actually coming into physical contact with each other.
