Daytona Aviation was a fixed base operator (FBO) based at what was known as Daytona Beach Regional Airport. The airport has since been renamed to Daytona Beach International Airport.
[edit] History
[edit] Trans-Florida Airlines
Daytona Aviation acquired a Part 121 certificate in 1966, allowing them to start operations as an airline. They then acquired five Douglas DC-3's, and in 1972, two Lockheed Model 49 Constellations. The airline, named Trans-Florida Airlines, sold and aquired a number of different aircraft, including Convairs, over the years. Passenger service has since stopped, ending in the early 1990s, but two Convairs were kept and continue to fly as freighters.[1]
