Phagun, also a 1958 film.
Phagun is a 1973 Hindi film written and directed by Rajinder Singh Bedi, and starring Dharmendra, Waheda Rehman, and Jaya Bhaduri.
This offbeat romantic drama has memorable songs by S.D. Burman and Majrooh Sultanpuri (Lyrics), including the perennial favourite Holi song, 'Piya sang khelo hori phagun aayo re' - Lata Mangeshkar. In a decisive moment in the song, Waheeda Rehman rebukes her husband, Dharmenra for spoiling her silk saree, only to please her disapproving parents. But Dharmendra having been humiliated in public leaves home. Phagun (the month in which Holi is played) had changed forever.[1]. Waheeda character raises their daughter, who grows up to be Jaya Bhaduri. Jaya falls in love with Vijay Arora and marries him. Waheeda interferes in their marriage as she is so lonely, but this creates tension in the marriage. Towards the end, she begs that she be reunited with her husband after all these years, and Dharmendra returns, and they are reunited.
