This article states Buck attended Emory University in Athens, GA. That college is actually located in Atlanta, GA. I'm not sure if the fact that he attend this school is incorrect, or simply the location of it. If someone could verify that would be wonderful. --BrokenStoic 22:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

OK, I found two references for Peter Buck's college attendance. The interview with Bertis Downs (you have to scroll about halfway down the page to find it) states that Peter Buck was an undecided major at UGA when they met. Another point that needs a citable reference, I am fairly certain that most of the other members of the band no longer reside primarily in Athens, but I can't find a source for that. Also, Emory University is definitely in Atlanta (not Athens). There is a Wuxtry records near Emory as well as near UGA in Athens, and I think Peter Buck may have worked at the Emory location before working for the Athens location, but I can't find any reference for that either. --Roswell native 04:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

R.E.M.: Fiction and It Crawled From the South, two high profile R.E.M. bios, list Buck as working at Wuxtry, not Chapter Three. Chapter Three isn't even mentioned in South, and only in passing in Fiction as a place to buy imports. --badlydrawnjeff talk 21:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

REM wasn't just a 1980s band. This could be improved but no sure how.

Actually it might be best if it just said "...the rock band R.E.M.". If anyone actually needs to know who R.E.M. are then they can follow the link, if not then any description is largely redundant. I think the main problem with the intro is that it describes Peter Buck purely as the guitarist for R.E.M. when he is more than that - OK that is certainly by far his biggest claim to fame but he's done session work and played with a lot of other people.

If editors really feel the need for adjectives and pronouns in the intro then maybe they should be applied to Peter Buck rather than R.E.M. There is definitely and argument for describing Buck's guitar style as influential or at least distinctive.

[edit] Pot of Yoghurt?!

What exactly is a pot of yoghurt? I'm assuming that means a cup of yogurt, unless airlines ladle out spoonfuls of yogurt from large black cauldrons, which have a tendency to explode when touched. --M.Neko 08:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Apparently it's an English expression. It means one of those single serving yogurt cups with the foil top. see http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=1729

Peter Buck is noted for his impressive personal collection of records and CDs, as well as encyclopedic knowledge of rock music. Does anyone have any sources with a recent estimate of his record collection size? Stuart mcmillen 02:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

In an interview with Wiese, a television music show in Norway, in March 1999 (not recent, I know, but it gives a basis) he said it was 25,000. - Dudesleeper · Talk 02:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "The Buck-owned Crocodile Cafe"??!!! In which universe?

The Crocodile Cafe is the project of Peter Buck's former spouse, Stephanie Dorgan. She was a disenchanted lawyer who adored music, apparently quit her day job, and opened the club in 1991 after purchasing the empty building. She married Buck 4 years later and they divorced earlier this year. She's not mentioned in the article by name (sour grapes?), even though she's also the mother of his twin girls. According to this article, Buck apparently gave birth to the children himself and "owns" the Crocodile cafe as well. In other words, it's misleading, inaccurate, and I shall change it if no one objects. strike71 (talk) 19:17, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
