[edit] Merges

Martyrs of Japan It looks to me that this article and Martyrs of Japan cover the same territory. We only need one of them. Personally, I prefer the name Martyrs of Japan, as it seems to me (possibly?) to be the one the non-Catholic groups venerating these people use, but I would accept merger under either name. You certainly can't merge in the other direction, since there's a long list of other martyrs on this page too. I wouldn't mind merging Peter Baptist into this one - or moving most the material of this particular group to the other article. --Alvestrand 17:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
  • The Martyrs of Japan is a longer article. I think that whatever is done, all three articles need to be reconciled. --evrik (talk) 18:23, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Support --evrik (talk) 18:18, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Support merging article into whichever of the above remains. John Carter 22:17, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Support merging all 3 into "Martyrs of Japan." -- Pastordavid 23:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Support merging all three articles (plus perhaps Paul Miki) into Martyrs of Japan. I would prefer this, both as the author of the other article and because all of the individuals with articles are part of this larger group known collectively as the Martyrs of Japan. jackturner3 20:22, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Comment -- if everyone is in favor, as it would seem, I will begin work on the merge in the next week or so. I will also add the merge tag to Paul Miki and see what the consensus is there. jackturner3 20:22, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Since there were no objections, I am undertaking the merge today. -- jackturner3 13:08, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
