Its MLA is Hon. Bill Barisoff, a former trucking firm owner. He was first elected in 1996 to represent the riding of Okanagan-Boundary and was re-elected in 2001 for Penticton-Okanagan Valley. He represents the British Columbia Liberal Party. Mr. Barisoff was appointed Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection on January 26, 2004. He has previously served as Minister of Provincial Revenue.
