Its Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is the Hon. Richard Neufeld, a former Social Credit and Reform BC MLA. He was first elected in 1991. He now represents the British Columbia Liberal Party. Mr. Neufeld was appointed Minister of Energy and Mines on June 5, 2001. He is a former mayor of Fort Nelson.
