Pendleton Center for the Arts

The Pendleton Center for the Arts is located in the historic 1915 Carnegie Library building on the banks of the Umatilla River in downtown Pendleton, Oregon, United States.

This beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival style building was one of the thousands funded by steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie in the early 1900.s

After serving for more than 80 years, not only as a library, but as a community gathering place, the building was renovated by the Arts Council of Pendleton into a multi-venue arts facility. Today the Pendleton Center for the Arts is still a gathering place, bringing together community members and visitors from far and wide to view, buy and make art.

The 1800 sq. ft. East Oregonian Gallery provides a venue for professional and emerging artists from the region and also present a wide range of art from across the country and around the world through traveling exhibitions and special events.

The Lorenzen Board Room Gallery features exhibits by local community members, often sharing their work for the first time.

The 110-seat Pearson Auditorium provides a venue for live music performances with excellent acoustics. This intimate setting features jazz, bluegrass, world music and more.

The Pendleton Foundation Trust Fine Craft Gallery features work by more than 50 artisans in the Northwest, showcasing their newest work and many one-of-a-kind offerings.

Beginning and professional artists take advantage of the state-of-the-art painting, ceramics and digital arts studios. Community members can take a class or work independently in a wide range of media.

Classes for 5 – 12 year olds run all year long and include fun summer arts camps.

The Center’s flagship program Art Rocks Teens (A.R.T.) allows young people 13 – 18 years old to attend classes after school and all summer long and absolutely FREE. Designed by teens for teens, class schedules feature a wide range of visual and performing arts, including garage band, film making, costume and jewelry design and more.

The Center also makes the buildings beautiful rooms available for weddings, receptions, parties and meetings of all kinds. Affordable rates, helpful staff and in-house audio/visual equipment allow for use by a broad range of community members.
