Pemangkat is a small town in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, on the island of Borneo. It located northwest of the provincial capital of Pontianak.
In the center of the town, most of the population are Hakka and Tio Ciu Chinese.
The Tanjung Batu beach resort is located nearby. Also, there is a Temple located on the "Gunung Gajah" hill known as "Shin Mu Nyong". This temple is built as the a worship place to the god that Chinese locals believe protecting fishermans when sailing out on the sea. Until now, this small town still hold many traditional Chinese culture that can be rarely seen at other places.
