Pearl Spot is freshwater fish found in southern India, especially in Kerala and Karnataka. Pearl Spots inhabit a fresh and brackish water habitats, found mainly in Kerala Backwaters and western flowing rivers in Karanataka. It's a species of Cichild family and Etroplus genus.The fish, known locally as Karimeen, is considered a delicacy. [1]
