[edit] Jargon
Should not use PPP jargon in entry Foolswisdom 15:32, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Which "PPP jargon" is inaccurate or would benefit from additional detail? Danrua 03:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Other Providers
I think this article should be converted to one that discusses the Paid to Post / Pay Per Post model in general, and not just the PayPerPost.com provider. There are other providers out there, I believe. Otus 11:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Marketplace
I really don't like the Danrua's new framing of the service as a "marketplace". Anyone have the energy to roll this back to something a little more neutral? Preferably without the marketingspeak? Stevage 02:57, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Added cite to Wikipedia definition of online marketplace, which clearly includes the business model in question. Danrua 03:19, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Um, online marketplace is a redirect, which doesn't even use the term, and only uses the term "marketplace" once. Let's just stick to "website". Stevage 23:19, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Controversy
I would think any article about PPP needs reference to the lengthy controversy in the blogosphere regarding "shilling", the Google pagerank drop suffered by blogs who participated, and PPP's early support for "disclosure policies" which was presumably an attempt to prevent exactly that reaction from Google, but failed to really catch on outside of the "Postie" community? [edit] Controversy
PPP blogs were not the only blogs to take a hit, so to imply that would be wrong. Sites and blogs across the board took hits. (Blm0303 (talk) 03:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC))
Well, obviously, one would not say that. But since gaming pagerank was the cornerstone of their business model at the beginning, and that part of the business model is now severely broken (ie, limited to the few people unaware of the fact that Google has killed it), it seems like one of the more relevant controversies about PPP that people would be interested in. One would need to poke around some of the more reputable SEO blogs where they discuss this stuff in order to talk about it with any sort of neturality, otherwise it'd be Original Research.
