Paul Overstreet is best known for writing songs such as "Forever and Ever, Amen," which was a huge hit in mid-1987 for Randy Travis; "When You Say Nothing at All," which was a huge hit at the end of 1988 for the late Keith Whitley; "Some Beach", a #1 hit in late 2004-early 2005 for Blake Shelton; "Love Can Build a Bridge," which was a super hit for The Judds; "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"; "Halfway Home Cafe"; and "On The Other Hand," another big hit for Travis.

As a singer, Paul Overstreet had a hit with Paul Davis and Tanya Tucker, "I Won't Take Less Than Your Love" (1988). Also, he's had a successful solo career with hits like "Love Helps Those" (#3, 1989), "All the Fun" (#5, 1989), and "Daddy's Come Around" (#1 in early 1991). Overstreet was also a member of country music group Schuyler, Knobloch & Overstreet, which reached #1 in 1987 with the song "Baby's Got a New Baby."
