Schreiber's Lincoln-Douglas Debate Team was nationally dominant from 2003-2005, with three students capturing several national titles. However, the team slowly distanced itself from the school's administration and failed to meet the needs of beginner debater's interested in local competition. In recent years the team has been refounded by its original coach and popularity of debate at Schreiber has been on the rise.[citation needed]

In the 2006-07 school year, a Public Forum Debate team from Schreiber won the Princeton Classic. The tournament consisted of 54 teams from dozens of schools across the nation.[4]
