My father is Colonel Roddy's great-grandson. We have in the family an ancient newspaper cutting which refers to an alleged second VC won by Colonel Roddy - but we have no more information which would verify this. The rumour in the family is that he may have taken payment in lieu, as he had several unmarried sisters to support. I would love to know how to find out more about this!
