The Party of Greens of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Партія Зелених України, Partija Zelenykh Ukrainy, PZU), a green party, was founded in the 1990s. In 1998, the Ukrainian Greens got 5,5% of the votes and 19 seats in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament. This success couldn't be repeated in the 2002 election, in which the Ukrainian Greens missed out with 1,3 %. At the 2007 parliamentary elections the party failed with 0.40 % to enter the parliament.
The party claims to have about 80,000 members.
Its main priorities are the alteration of anti-ecological attitudes in the economic system, the reconstruction of the social system, and the protection of human rights.
The Party has been a member of the European Green Party since January 1994.
