Those users are part of a Wikiproject that you are encouraged to participate in. Also, you are seeing what is called userboxes that you may add to your userpage if you like. I think it should be fine just to post w/o a source, so long as you put this code: {{fact}}. Just copy and paste, and right next to your post, put that down. That way it will come out as such:

The Alternative music WikiProject Newsletter Issue 13 - April 2008

"God is in your scrotum!'"- Perry Farrell Project news This month was the first in over a year in which no articles were promoted to featured article status. In the period between March 2007 and April 2008, the project produced a whopping 70 Featured Articles. Let's keep adding to those numbers! Pearl Jam was featured on the Main Page on April 22. We collaborated on My Bloody Valentine, The Queen Is Dead, Double Nickels on the Dime and Ten (Pearl Jam album) during the past month. During the month of April, Diorama (album), Editors, Neon Bible, Ghosts I–IV, "Yes! I Am a Long Way from Home" and "Who Really Cares (Featuring the Sound of Insanity)" were promoted to good article status. This month's "Recommended Alternative Album" is Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out (1997).

New members Arleach, Panic!out, N0tverycreative, and Gallagher2x2 joined the alternative music fold during April. Editors User:WesleyDodds

[edit] Userboxes

This [1] will help format your userboxes into a table. For userboxes, go here: [2].

There's a whole list of userboxes. When you find one you like, click "edit page" and then, copy everything from the <div> to the </div>, leaving out the area that says [[Category:example]].

You can also find userboxes by navigating to other users' pages. When you find a userbox on someone's page that you like, copy the code and put it on your own. Or you could join a WikiProject or Group and get codes.

Also, until Haza-w moved it, it was at User:Template:Panic!out/Menu, not User:Panic!out/Menu. Algebraist 17:52, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, real life called! As Algebraist said, I've moved the template to User:Panic!out/Menu as you tried to use two namespace prefixes – it should have been named as a user sub-page. Now, all you need to do is use {{User:Panic!out/Menu}} on your pages, and it'll be transcluded. haz (talk) 18:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Files that can be uploaded on Wikipedia are mainly images that accompany the articles. There are two different ways to upload images. The first way is to use the upload wizard, which can be found at WP:Upload. The wizard allows you to easily add an image by pre-adding the appropriate template to the image itself based upon what kind of image is being uploaded. Once the correct type had been selected, you will be directed to the upload form.

• In this form, the first thing to do is press Browse and select the file you want to upload from your local PC.
• Then, type a Destination Filename. This is the name where the file can be accessed at.
• Following that, fill in the summary as far as you can. If you cannot fill in a certain field either remove it or leave or blank
• Last, select the License Type. Note that adding a correct license is important! If the file remains without license, or the image doesn't comply to Wikipedia:Image use policy it is likely to be removed.
• Once done, press Upload File

Presto, you are done. You can now add the image to a page by adding two brackets with the image between it, like this: [[Image:Choco_chip_cookie.jpg]]. Note that in this case i added two nowiki tags, which prevent wikipedia from converting the code to an image (Rather hard to see what i typed otherwise, don't you think? :))
