[edit] Wrong picture

Tallyman, I understand you are trying to help, but obviously you have never been to Palo Alto High School. The school is South and East of the picture you showed. Just plugging in addrsses which you are not familiar with into USGS map services can be a dangerous thing. The picture you put up is of the Town and Country shopping area next to the high school. Unless you are more familiar with the area, which you have obviously never been to, it may be best to leave it alone. Wodan 03:15, May 2, 2005 (UTC)

  • If you disagree with the framing of the aerial photograph, please upload a better one. Tallyman 22:47, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I would like to see a more representative picture of the school, perhaps one of Campanile, (the tower building) at the top of the page, rather than just a billboard. If I get around to it, I'll take one. Dshaffer 01:20, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
  • The aerial photo is also not very current. Some of the buildings shown have since been destroyed, and the fields have been redone. A new swimming pool is currently under construction. It may not be a major issue, but is probably one to be considered. Dshaffer 07:54, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Meh, I'll go to school tomorrow with my camera and take a few pictures to put up here? You guys want scans of the publications too?

[edit] More Info

If anyone is interested in updating the history section of the site, the official website has great info at http://paly.net/info/history.php. Dshaffer 06:12 13 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Theatre

OK, what theatre dork wrote that bit? Edgy underground? Give me a break. JoelC 20:17, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Campanile

There is no way that the Campanile can claim to be "the most famous and recognized" of all the Paly publications when the Voice has a monthly readership of around 40,000 and has won an INTERNATIONAL award for excellence.

  • I have to agree. The Paly Voice reaches a much larger audience. From Jan 1, '06 to Oct 12, '06, the site received about 8 million hits, with an average of 38,000 unique visitors per month. It is doubtful that Campy was quite that popular.
  • Maybe everyone went to Voice to read Campy articles... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.4.200.223 (talk) 01:51, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alumni

I looked, but didn't find verification that Jerry Garcia attended Paly. Verification is also needed for Whitfield Crane and Money B. Maybe they all did go to Paly - I don't know... I suspect that they might have been *assumed* to have gone to Paly because of their various connections to Palo Alto, i.e., born there, family lived there at some point, etc. When I was going to Jordan and Paly in the 80's, I heard a few times that Steve Perry and Gregg Rolie of Journey had gone to Paly in the 70's; in the early 90's I worked with someone who had gone to Cubberly with them. Anyway, the point is, we should check. Anyone have access to old Paly yearbooks? -- JustDerek 02:41 GMT, 09 June 2006

Garcia went to Balboa High School.
Pigpen (Ron McKernan) went to Paly for a while but didn't graduate. Whit Crane definitely went to Paly--he's in my '86 yearbook. Schildog 20:04, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Senior Pranks

"Hundreds of crickets unleashed in the library prior to the finals for grades 9-11, Class of '99."

I graduated in 2002. This never happened. Where do you kids come up with this stuff?

There has been tampering and vandalism on this section. The user's IP originates from within Paly, and Paly's IP has as far as I know, been blocked. The again, it may not have any relevance to your question. Sorry Boredome1a (talk) 02:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alumni

Wusu is no longer on the Raiders roster. What happened with that? I hear he was injured in preseason and was cut from the team. Does anyone know if this is true? 76.171.210.232 00:10, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Akshat Rajvaidya Class of 2004

[edit] Suicides

From the article: "In 1986, 2002 and 2003, the Paly community was shaken by two students' suicides (by jumping in front of oncoming trains)...."

Ummm...how exactly were two suicides accomplished in three separate years? Or did the second one take so long that it was started in one year and finished in the next? (Man, that's one slow-moving train!) 24.6.66.193 22:08, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

The suicide paragraph has been updated, and that is no longer a problem. Boredome1a (talk) 02:18, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Trivia:

Paly was Green and White long before Gunn opened. Anybody know the year? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.10.60 (talk) 20:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
