[edit] Updated photo of Salone dei Cinquecento
I've put together an HDR photo of Salone dei Cinquecento which I'd like to use to replace the current photo. It's basically the same picture, just quite a bit more vivid: (image) It's my first WP suggestion, so I'm a bit hesitant to just replace what's already there. Listrophy 18:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is indeed a much better picture. You've uploaded it to Flickr without mentioning the copyright license. I would suggest you add {{cc-by-2.5}} . Then you can upload this picture to Commons:Palazzo Vecchio (Firenze), using the same license. Once the image is on the Commons, you can insert it into this article. JoJan 13:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

The following text was added recently :
"Historians suspect that the stuffed rhinoceros of Pope Leo X was shipped back to Florence and stored in the Medici collection in the Arsenale. If it did make an extended stay there it would have been moved by 1175 when the collections were dispersed. No traces of the animal have been found. <ref>Bedini, Silvio ''The Pope's Elephant'' (1997) 136.</ref>"
If one checks the articles Dürer's Rhinoceros and Belém Tower, it is clearly stated that the Portuguese king Manuel I sent the first living example, seen in Europe since Roman times, to Pope Leo X in 1515. However it went down in a shipwreck off the coast of Italy.
Then how could it have been stuffed and stored in Florence ? And have been moved by 1175 ? (time travel ?).
The deleted paragraph uses the words "suspect", "if", "it would", "no traces", in other words this looks like speculation and not fact. Therefore I have removed this paragraph until someone comes up with something more tangible. JoJan 08:36, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
