[edit] Regarding this and similar edits

I think that we just need to talk about this rationally instead of arguing back and forth. I think that the information you're adding, besides being advertising for the shops, is information that only people in Painswick would really care about (except for maybe some info about the school). Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Veinor (talk to me) 17:56, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

The Shops section is original research and should be deleted. The schools section needs serious trimming, even if it's not outright deleted, and must abide by WP:NPOV. Xiner (talk, email) 17:59, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
We cannot have this material: some of it is blatant company promotion and all of it is unencyclopedic. It does not conform with our policies of WP:NPOV, WP:V, and WP:OR. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for advertising or an indiscriminate collection of information. That material is potentially valid but will need a hefty rewrite in the light of NPOV to become encyclopedic. Moreschi Deletion! 18:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. I think there's a consensus on this page to delete the info, judging from the edit history, so anyone who wants to restore it should discuss it here first, or you may be warned for spamming. Xiner (talk, email) 18:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
As everyone seems to agree the guff about shops and the school is totally OTT I've followed the Wiki principle of "be bold" and taken a cleaver to them! Jjasi 19:46, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

I am wary of indulging in cruft; so I will ask for opinions: There are a number of exhibitions in Painswick, an art gallery etc. Would this information be cruft, or would it be a useful contribution?

[edit] Number of Yew Trees

Does the Painswick Beacon say there are 102 trees or simply that one fell down in July 2007? If the latter then stating there are now 102 is unreliable as we don't know when the count of 103 quoted by the V&A was made. Jjasi 06:51, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I've checked the Beacon and it simply says that one of them fell down, nothing other than speculation as to how many there are, as a result I'll remove the comment. Jjasi 11:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
