[edit] Presidential Electoral histories

You don't have to ad the Electoral History-sections to the articles about the presidents. Al the presidents have references to elections within their articles. John 19:39, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

I must echo the above. Please stop adding "Electoral history" sections to presidential articles. It is redundant and unneccessary, especially in articles that are already too long (George W. Bush). - auburnpilot talk 04:01, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nicky Parsons

Are you still working on the Nicky Parsons article? I want to make sure you are not still expanding it. ColdFusion650 20:19, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Nicky Parsons, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ColdFusion650 20:37, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Someone else has already done it. I would appreciate your comments on the talk page. ColdFusion650 11:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Andy Brown (Everwood character)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Andy Brown (Everwood character), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Andy Brown (Everwood character). [edit] Political families

I admire your work at List of United States political families. I also have some questions for discussion and suggestions that I would like your opinion on.

  • First, obviously, the article somehow needs to be shortened. I did suggest splitting the article on the talk page, but on second thought, I think that needs reconsideration. It might be preferable to split the article into state articles, like List of New York political families, since most of the families are from one state. This might be better than creating lots of family political line articles, which provide little context. Also, I think it would be better to incorporate the political lines into articles like Harrison family rather than create an article like Harrison family political line.
  • I think the current method of laying out the members of a family is confusing and should be changed. You have bulleted hierarchical lists, but they don't really represent relationships among the family, just the generation change. For example, see Roosevelt family#Members for a more intuitive use of indented lists. Since most of the families, which include both ancestors and descendants, are not merely descendant lists for which a bulleted hierarchical list would be useful, I think the list should not be hierarchical. It should just be a flat list of members and how they are related.
  • Also, I think it would greatly help the size issue if every single office a politician held was not listed; just list the highest office attained.

Just my two cents.--Michael WhiteT·C 17:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I have access to America's Political Dynasties by Stephen Hess, which can be limited previewed at Google Books, if you would like any lookups done. Also, I did spend a while separating the page into lists by state, and once I incorporate additions/modifications since I downloaded a version, I may upload it.--Michael WhiteT·C 14:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:50, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
