Okay, this is way too much of a critical review with very little being NPOV. I suggest the article focuses on Open Range's place in contemporary Westerns, especially with respect to the Revisionist Western. Philip Thomas --20:16, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV?

"because the camera spends time caressing the magnificent scenery of the West."

or

"and some find it refreshing to see a leading man get into a relationship with a woman who isn't young enough to be his daughter."

I concur with an earlier poster by saying this sounds more like a review than an article about the film.Dspserpico 04:15, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to do some massive editing on this page, feel free to correct or sugggest. Levid37

While looking for a plot synopsis on Google (I'm having a little trouble remembering the fine details), I found this little gem: http://listing-index.ebay.com/movies/Open_Range.html The entire previous entry for this movie comes from an E-bay plot synopsis. No wonder it reads like a review. Levid37

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Open range.jpg

Image:Open range.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] The Gunfight

More could be said about the climactic gunfight being more "realistic" in terms of time and place (a chaotic melee rather than the usual fast-draw at high noon). I'm not sure what "visceral gunplay" is supposed to mean, unless its a euphamistic way of saying that people get their guts blown out. Cranston Lamont (talk) 23:38, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
