The photo above is that of a single face of a coin that served as currency in the Republic of the Philippines circa 1990's. It illustrates one side of the one-peso coin which had the image of a tamaraw, now-inaccurately labelled as Anoa mindorensis (it's scientific name is now Bubalus mindorensis]). The other side of the coin shows a profile of Philippine hero Jose Rizal.
