Olavarría is a city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the capital of the Olavarría Partido and has over 83,000 inhabitants as per the 2001 census [INDEC].
The settlement was officially founded on November 25, 1867, named in honour of General José Valentín de Olavarría (1801 - 1845) who was an Argentine military leader.
