ISO 3166-2:AR

ISO 3166-2:AR is an ISO standard which defines geocodes: it is the subset of ISO 3166-2 which applies to Argentina. It describes 1 federal district (AR-C) and 23 Provinces. The first part is the ISO 3166-1 code AR for Argentina, the second part of the code is one-digit-alphabetic.

The letters have their origin in the Argentine license plates system.
