- 1938 - originally routed from Osgood to 1 mile east of Montezuma along current route 716 from Osgood to Chickasaw, route 274 from Chickasaw to 1 mile west of Chickasaw, and an unnumbered road from 1 mile west of Chickasaw to 1 mile east of Montezuma. [2]
- 1974 - Chickasaw to 1 mile west of Chickasaw certified as route 274 only. [2]
- 1974 - 1 mile west of Chickasaw to 1 mile east of Montezuma decertified. [2]
